BOGOTA - LETICIA (AMAZON)
DAY 1 / BOGOTA
Reception at El Dorado airport and transfer to the 5* HOTEL DE LA OPERA (2 nights, breakfast).
DAY 2 / BOGOTA CITY TOUR
After breakfast, walking to the sacred MONSERRAT, going up by cable car and time to visit the local market, where you can taste typical products, such as coca tea, aromatica, canelazo, rompecalzón, or taste the local specialty "ajíaco" (thick soup). Afterwards, a walk down to the city center and a tour of the historic core, a visit to the Gold Museum, where you will see the largest collection of pre-Hispanic goldsmith art. A walk on Bolivar Square and a tour of the picturesque district "LA CANDELARIA". We recommend visiting the Boter Museum.
DAY 3 / BOGOTÁ - LETICIA - CALANOA LODGE
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight to the capital of the Department of Amazonas, LETICIA. At the airport we will be greeted by a bilingual assistant, who will take us to the dock on the AMAZONAS River to board a boat, sailing approximately 1.5 hours to Comunidad Macagua, from there we will sail to CALANOA LODGE, where we will be welcomed with a welcome drink. After registration at the lodge, time to relax. As an introduction to the adventure, the first night you will have a night walk in the primary forest of the Calanoa Natural Reserve, guided by expert natives who have ancestral knowledge and who will take you to discover the night of that world that does not rest, the sounds of thousands of insects, songs of frogs, owls and night monkeys, plants that bloom at night and phosphorescent mushrooms. The jungle is one day and one night, and changes between the high water and low water seasons. Don't forget your flashlights! CALANOA LODGE (4 nights, full board).
DAY 4 / CALANOA LODGE ACTIVITIES
In the morning, visit a nearby indigenous village, to get closer to the daily life of its people (El Vergel or Mocagua). In the afternoon, walk through the Calanoa Natural Reserve to the Matamata ravine, on the border with the Amacayacu Natural Park, where a canoe will pick you up to return by water to Calanoa (if the water level allows it). You will be able to observe landscapes of high and ravine jungle, birds, monkeys and possibly some mammals, the adaptations of plants and insects, learn about medicinal plants, legends and myths from the indigenous vision of the forest. In the high water season you can navigate through the flooded forest, a wonderful experience.
DAY 5 / ACTIVITIES IN CALANOA LODGE
In the morning, walk on the island of Mocagua, considered part of the Amacayacu National Park, with unique species of flora and fauna, where you will see lakes with the beautiful Victoria Amazonica, the largest lotus in the world. In high waters the journey is done by canoe. In the afternoon, boat trip to the Peruvian coast in search of pink dolphins and to enjoy the sunset from the Amazon, always different and with all the colors of the universe.
DAY 6 / ACTIVITIES IN CALANOA LODGE
Travel by boat to Vista Alegre on the Peruvian coast, and walk through the forest, or if it is the season of high waters, canoe tour through the flooded forest, where you can observe birds, sloth bears and a huge and diverse fauna and lowland forest flora. In the afternoon, piranha fishing.
DAY 7 / RETURN TO BOGOTA
If you want to get up early we can organize bird watching at 5:30 am. Return to Leticia on the first public boat of the morning, at 7:30am. We can offer a tour of the city and the Ethnographic Museum of the Bank of the Republic. (if your departure is from Monday to Saturday, since on Sunday in Leticia everything is closed). Upon arrival in Bogotá, transfer to the DE LA OPERA 5* hotel (breakfast).
DAY 8 / TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT / END OF SERVICE
Transfer to the airport of Bogota and ,,Hasta pronto en Colombia".
